After many years, the website of the Spectroscopy Section of the Vereinigung der Sternfreunde e. V. (VdS) truly deserves a redesign.

Over the years, the previous website has grown into an extensive collection of information, links, technical articles, projects, and materials covering all aspects of astronomical spectroscopy. Much of this remains highly valuable – however, the layout and structure are no longer up to date.

That is why we are now relaunching the website.

The new site is designed to be clearer, more modern, and more accessible. Our core focus remains on the content and activities of our section: practical spectroscopy, projects, observation and analysis, information regarding ASpekt and our journal SPEKTRUM, as well as fostering the exchange between amateur and professional astronomers.

At the same time, we want to make it easier to get started in spectroscopy. Beginners exploring the topic for the first time should be able to find their way around just as quickly as experienced spectroscopists looking for specific information, projects, or advanced materials.

Some parts of the new website are still under construction and will be continuously updated, expanded, and improved.
